I am excited today to talk with David Siegenthal!
Q: When did you join the Mediu team?
A: I joined the Mediu team in October of 2013.
Q: How did you first learn about Mediu? And why did you want to work here?
A: I found the original job opening at Mediu on craigslist. The opening was quite vague but sounded interesting considering I had no experience with Java or the telecom industry. After my first interview, I knew Mediu would be a great place to work and expand my area of expertise with a variety of projects and programming languages.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
A: The most enjoyable aspect of my work at Mediu is a relaxed atmosphere and the freedom to be creative with solutions.
Q: How has the contact center industry evolved since you first began working at Mediu?
A: Indubitably, the cloud offerings from both contact center technology companies and SaaS telecom companies.
Q: What industry trends are you keeping your eye on?
A: Omnichannel cloud offerings.
Q: Which three words would you use to describe the culture at Mediu?
A: Inclusive, hardworking, fun.
Q: When you aren’t working, how do you like to spend your time?
A: Usually, a mixture of hanging out with my wife, friends, and three pets. I’m also an avid reader of tech books, hacker news, and reddit.
Q: What motivates you to jump out of bed in the morning?
A: Probably my bluetick coonhound, Rusty, who likes to wake me up at 7 am every day.
Q: Tell us one thing most people don’t know about you.
A: I once won 3rd place on America’s Funniest Home Videos for a clip that was later featured on a PBS special on the history of comedy and, more recently, a Toyota commercial. I also had a brief appearance on a promo for the BET Awards one year.
